2015 Fall Playoffs
In what was our biggest season yet, six teams competed for the coveted Astoria Social Darts Fall ’15 championship plaque. After 10 weeks, the top six teams were as follows:
1) Irish Whiskey 2
2) Doyles Corner
4) Sissy McGintys
5) Rocky McBrides 1
6) Irish Rover 2
Both (1) Irish Whiskey 2 and (2) Doyles Corner received first round byes:
12/7-(5) Rocky McBrides vs (4) Sissy McGinty’s:
In a rematch of the 2015 Spring quarterfinal, Sissy McGintys once again managed a victory, walking away from our opening contest with a 15-8 win. The 01 games proved to be too much, as Sissys went 11-2 in games of 01 on the night, winning in the sixth round. They would go on to face the Irish Whiskey Bar 2 in the semi-finals.
12/8-(6) Irish Rover 2 vs (3) Quays:
The Irish Rover cemented their playoff spot with a 15-4 win over Sissy’s in week 10 action. However, that momentum would not carry over as the Quays would defeat the Rover 2 team by a score of 15-9. Carlos and co. were too much for the Irish Rover squad. Congrats on a great first season of darts in Astoria Social!
12/14-(4) Sissy McGintys vs (1) Irish Whiskey Bar 2
The Irish Whiskey Bar 2 was able to hold off a late Sissys charge, defeating the 4th seed by a score of 15-10. At the end, Irish Whiskey was too much, using their experience and superior skill to move on to the title game.
12/14-(3) Quays vs (2) Doyles Corner
Doyle Corner was able to defeat the Quays by a score of 15-9. The Quays would face Sissys in the 3rd place game, while Doyles would make their second finals appearance as a part of Astoria Social.
Third Place game:
12/21 (4) Sissy McGinty’s vs (3) Quays
After some hard fought games, the Quays would prevail and take home the third place plaque. It was a fine campaign for Sissy’s, who have played in every single week their has been darts league action since the inception of the league.
12/28-(2) Doyles Corner vs (1) Irish Whiskey Bar #2
For the second time in three seasons, the Doyles Destroyers stand tall as our league champions, defeating the Irish Whiskey Bar #2 after a week off for the holidays.
